- Semantic Web = an extension of the world wide web which allows data to be shared and reused through a web of linkages and integrations. Providing a common framework, the semantic web allows computers to carry out sophisticated operations through better data access.
- Open Source = Something that is created with a publicly available and modifiable. Open source software allows everyone to learn from it, collaborate on it, and share it.
